Short

It refers to the extraction of “exact or precise fragments of a statement from an external source” (an author, a group of researchers, entity, law or any other organization), statements that are to be analyzed or contrasted later on in the paper.

We take the ideas of another author and translate to our words, it implies a reelaboration of the information that goes beyond the use of synonyms.

textual SHort quotation

Less than 40 words long integrated into the paragraph and placed in quotation marks. A period is written at the end of the sentence that includes the quotation.

Quotations longer than 40 words are written separately from the text, with left indentation applied to the paragraph at 1.27 cm and without quotation marks. The font size and line spacing are line spacing are retained. In this case, as the quotation is presented in block and without other marks that delimit the the period is placed before the parenthesis.

Reference

The references are the list of complete information of the sources cited in the paper. References are necessary for the correct credits, authorship and for locating and confirming the information in case a reader wants to go to the sources that supported a work.
