6 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSABOUT First SpeakingChris Wilson
Yes, you can. Simply call the exam centre and while you are registering mention that there are two of you.
Like all normal conversations in any language we make mistakes. We might stop, think of another idea, or even forget what we were going to say. The key is to speak English all the time. So, you can say : Oh! I´ve forgotten the word, ah yes, it´s temple, so to go back to what I was saying... It´s that easy :)
That´s normal. Remember your partner can help you or you can ask the examiner. The examiner will rephrase their question rather than repeat it. It's better to ask rather than talk about something completely different. You could always clarify - Do you mean where do I live now? Extra points :)
Every exam centre is different. The methods we practise don't need clocks as you train to answer naturally. Examiners will stop you by saying Thank you or if you sound uncertain.
There are 60 points for the speaking test Grammar and Vocabulary 10 Discourse Management 10 Interactive communication 10 Pronunciation 10 Global Achievement 20
There are not many points for people who don't share the conversation. You'd lose a lot of points for interactive communication and Global score. In fact, the examiner might use part 4 to nominate you to give your opinion to make the test fair.
