Index
Wind farms
We all know them, the big white windmill type things that sit in a field just spinning, but they are not just spinning they are making energy, maybe even powering your home. wind farms today power more than 20 million homes in the USA per year and the number is yet increasing
Solar energy
Solar energy is produced by solar pannels and solar farms. This type of energy will never run out and though many people are put off by the cost of the installation it is quickly outwieghed by the saveing
tidal energy
Tidal energy is energy created by the surge of water when the tide rises and falls. 55.2 gigga whatts per hour (GWh) of tidal energy is equivalent to 862,000 barrels of oil.
nucler power
Nuclear power is energy that is very clean but does have it risks. Although it doesn't produce any greenhouse gasses the prosses in with it goes through produces a raidioactive waste prouct. The simple way to explain it is, boiling water! power stations mostly burn fuals made with crude oil, but by burning water the prosses becomes cleaner.
wave energy
Enery captured from surface waves is known as wave energy. It is produced by floating 'things' that capture power through the up and down motion of the waves.
hydrogen
Hydrogen gas is a totally clean natural gas. It is the cleanest fual to burn as the only waste product is water
