Pokrzywa (Nettle) - When we touch the nettle, we feel biting on the part where we touch it. Nettle has many vitamins: B1, C, E and others. We can make healing tea from it. Róża pomarszczona (wrinkled rose )- The wrinkled rose is used for making hedges. Its fruits are used for making preserves and her petals for making preserves Bluszcz (Ivy) - Ivy is used to heal the respiratory system. It is placed on wounds, therefore the pain is reduced. Paproć (Fern)- Ferns are considered to be the most friendly plants. Ferns are a good medicine for people on the respiratory system and prevent irritation of the mucous membranes. Dzika jeżyna (wild blackberry)- Wild blackberries contain a lot of vitamins, such as C, A and E. Like raspberries, they are an effective weapon against viruses.

Every year our school takes part in so called “Action Frog”. We take frogs from the buckets on the one side of the busy road to the river across the street. Kumak nizinny Firebelly Toad (bombina bombina)- Toad of central and eastern Europe. Draws attention with its red or orange dots on its belly mixed with black. Żaba trawna Grass Frog (rana temporaria) - Frog popular all over Europe. They rarely spend winter in flowing waters with common and green frogs. Ropucha szara Common Toad (bufo bufo) - The biggest group of toads in Poland. They are covered in toxin which is harmless for humans but is irritatiing for our skin.

Next to our school there is a water tank where people can swim, but the water tank is really dirty and no one wants to swim there. While we were there, we checked the ph of the water, and it was typical for that type of water tank. There’s a sign next to the water tank which says that people cannot make fire there, because trees might burn up. Our school tries to help the environment. It participates in “The Earth’s Day’’ which aims to clean the world. If you go down the path next to the water tank you can see other signs with different dates on them. The dates inform how long it takes garbage to break down.

Zalesie Górne is situated in the area of Chojnowski Park Krajobrazowy (Chojnów Landscape Park). Most of the park is covered by mixed forests with a predominance of pine and the share of oak and linden. A valuable element of the landscape is the valley of the Jeziorka and Czarna (Black) rivers. Nearby besides the rivers, there are also ponds and swamp. Despite many tourists visiting this place and following the educational trails and paths, you can still find a quiet place here. In the neighborhood you can also find dunes and therefore this area is called Górki Szymona (The Hills of Simon).

Jaszczurka (lizard) - There are four species of lizards in Poland. They are all protected. Pająk (spider) - There are over 800 species of spiders in Poland. None of them pose a deadly threat to humans, although biting by some of them is really unpleasant. Chrząszcz (beetle) - About 6200 beetles live in Poland. Some beetle larvae are beneficial because they fight pests, and some are pests themselves Krzyżówka (mallard/wild duck) - Almost all domestic duck breeds derive from the mallard. It is probably the most numerous species of duck. Łabędź (mute swan) - In Poland, it is under strict species protection. In Poland lives another variant of swans with pinkish (not dark grey) legs and dull white cygnets.
