A Video of Ronda

IMPORTANT PLACES In Ronda there are some places that are of vital importance to explain. The “Tajo de Ronda” is the photo at the left side of the page and it is a really tall bridge (98m) made of stone. Its construction was finished in the 18th century. This awesome structure connects the historical centre with the modern part of the city. Ronda has one of the most beautiful natural places in Andalusia called “Sierra de las Nieves”. This natural park is formed by moderate high mountains that conserve a high amount of endangered plant species such as the pinsapo. Also there, somo animals that have lost their home in other places in Malaga have found a new place to live there.

MY PERSONAL OPINION I have been to Ronda several times in my life and from my point of view it is one of the most beautiful towns in Spain. I love this place because of its people and its culture. Also Ronda has amazing places such as the "Tajo"

HISTORY The first ones to call this territory were the Bastali Celts, they chose the name of “Arunda”. Many years later, Ronda became one of the most important cities in the province of Baetica, the territory that nowadays belongs to Andalusia. After the Visigoth period, the town regained its importance due to the Muslim domination, at that time, Ronda received the name of “Irna Rond Onda”. Although a great number of cultures have lived together in Ronda, the most important change was made by the muslims. They helped in the development of the city and also they carried out the process of making the town great.
