The name Barca do Lago is due to the fact that at least since the 17th century until the end of the 19th, there was a boat that would transport people, cars, animals and pilgrims between the two banks of the river Cávado.

This party was created to honor, Nossa Senhora do Lago. And to honor her, there is a 3-day party, a mass and a procession.
