Introductory activities

  • school teams presented their activities connected with EU Code Week 2020

  • we raised the intercultural awareness
  • we were ambassadors of our countries and taught one another about natural, cultural, educational distinctions

Intercultural activities

We discussed effective pesticides used in agriculture and their impact on human health first on the forum page

Then each mixed international team created a video on the topic

In the tricider we shared our thoughts on food production, organic farming and food waste

We learnt about a global issue of world hunger

And each mixed team created a presentation with posters to raise the awareness on the topic

We discussed the problems of starvation and designed a food cabinet to reduce the food waste

We shared our thoughts on what comes to our mind first when we think of a safe school.We also documented whole period of distance schooling during pandemic in 2020

2nd challenge = Safe schools

In mixed teams we were searching different aspects of emotional and physical safety at schools

Within school teams we were talking about the physical effects of the pandemic on individuals. Then, based on the ideas obtained from the debates, school teams created ebooks about "Physically safe schools and measures to be taken after the pandemic".

And also learnt about special physical and chemical properties of this precious liquid

We measured our individual water footprints and studied and compared the water footprints of our countries

We carried out a research on wide importance of water for life generally and also specifically for us as human beings

3rd challenge = We save water

Some targeted the emotions of their audience more, while the others preferred more factual influencingWe also prepared google presentations on this topic

In mixed international teams we voted for one particulat problem of water pollution and made animated movies on the problem with the original script

School teams looked for methods how to preserve water and created plenty of games and quizzes with educative outcome.

Final product

STEM Discovery Campaign 2021 is the sixth edition of this event organised by Scientix together with more than 20 organisations which focuses this year on the topics of Sustainability and Citizenship. Our participants voted for global warming as the most alarming problem to be solved so our final challenge was to address this global issue.
