Preface

Literature through Flipperd classroom is an eTwinning project born thanks to the collaboration of 2 founding teachers Mrs Halime Can (Turkey) and Mrs Rosanna Gaudio (Italy)Looking for new partners to collaborate to the project, a Belgian school has collaborated for a short period working collaboratively on six upon eleven books

Working with new partners at their first experience is not always easy ...but we succeded in overcoming all the difficulties and have worked together allowing our students to live a really interactive, international, challenging experience.And this is the final product which will collect only some parts of the eTwinning project: Posters, Presentations and some videos.Thanks for your attention and enjoy

...Italian, Turkish and Belgian students have got in touch and become friends. Although far away from each other and having different cultures, citizenships and religions, all of them were bonded by a deep passion for reading and a good knowledge of English language. Students, divided into multicultural groups had to analyse a book belonging to English literature and prepare a presentation about it...

What dooes the Project mean to Us? English literature is a very rich literature. The fact that it combines literature and technology has been the golden key of this project. We examined eleven books and everyone had to read and present one book in detail with the group he/she belonged to. It was certainly very valuable for all of us to learn something from the pens of genius writers. I want to mention some books. Our journey started with Macbeth, we witnessed the dimensions of human ambition. In the book called Tempest, we were involved in a storm and watched what happened. In Robinson Crusoe, we saw how it feels to be on a deserted island and our twenty-seven-year hero's island life. In Pride and Prejudice, we accompanied the English people to their balls and tea parties. In Frankenstein, we took a look at the deep desires of man. We learned about England after the Industrial Revolution at Oliver Twist. We saw a love-hate relationship in Wuthering Heights. In The Dublinners book, we got involved in the daily life of the Irish people. In The Picture of Dorian Gray, we witnessed late Victorian England and saw the dimensions that the obsession with beauty could reach. In the book Animal Farm, a system criticism was handled by the presenters. Finally, we ended the presentations of our project with the book Waiting for Godot. These presentations were a great experience and an informative journey for us.

I think we all agree that the presentations have improved our knowledge . We have improved our English, our experience using web2 tools has increased, we have gained in-depth knowledge of English literature, our Public Speaking has been empowered. Digitalization in education, which has increased with the epidemic process, can also be seen clearly in our project. It seems that the use of digital ways in education will increase and will continue from now on. For this reason, we should make good use of information technologies. Likewise, English is very important… Knowing and mastering the English language will give us a lot in the future. Our project was a project that developed both of these basic skills for us. A big thank you to our teachers who gave us the opportunity to participate in the project, to everyone who created and developed the eTwinning platform, and to my student friends with whom we carried out our project this year...by Polat (Tr)

Students have created multicultural working and friendly relations; a lot of them have found pen pals, maybe for life, which are a precious resource against solitude, especially in this pandemic time seeing the partners just like themselves after tearing down the curtains of prejudice and diffidence: a cure-all against xenophobia and racism...
