Life below water!

Life below water !

Marine biology or biological oceanography is a branch science of biology that deals with the study of life in ocean basins, the diversity of marine living, their adaptation and evolution, the biological productivity of the estuary. Marine biology is also concerned with the study of terrestrial and air organisms that are directly dependant on salt water environments for the procurement of food and other needs

Emil Racovita the founder of bioscience, in 1891 works at the Arago laboratories at the Banyus-sur-Mer marine biology resort, where he performs a series of diving at a depth of 10 m with then diving equipment to study underwater life. In 1896 he presented the doctoral thesis in the marine biology dedicated to the structure of the cephalic capsule of polyquat anelides. Participating in the Antarctic expedition of the Belgian vessel in (1897-1899), Emil Racovita also entered the history of oceanology through research on the cetaceans. At this stage Romanian researchers are participating in international programs related to the Black Sea, the Mediterranean and other world seas.

131 fish species were identified on the Romanian Black Sea coast (the Romanian coastal fish fauna potentially comprises more than 140 species ), on the Bulgarian coast 187, Turkish coast 167, Ukrainian coast 155, Russian sea coast 112 and Georgian coast 110 species. Following the IUCN criteria, 9 species are critically threatened with extinction, 11 species are vulnerable, 4 are almost threatened with extinction, 139 are not threatened with extinction; for 15 species there are insufficient data to assess conservation status and 19 species have not yet been assessed. The 9 critical species threatened with extinction are: Squatina squatina (angel shark), Acipenser gueldenstaedetii (nisetum), Acipenser nucidentris (Visa), Acipenser pericus (Persian sturgeon), Acipenser stellatus (Caruga), Acipenser sturener sturio (Piso Delta), Anguilla (Guiella), Huiella (Puschio) (Pugilla) (European Guiella), Huiella).

Endangered species

The Nisette (Acipenser gueldenstaetii) is a sea fish, bentonic, potamodox canadrom) of the acipenseride (Acipenseridae) family living in the Black Sea and Caspian Sea and migrating to rivers flowing into them: From the Caspian Sea migrates to Volga, Ural, Cura; from Azov Sea; From the Black Sea - in Rion, Nipru, Bug, Nistru and the Danube. Three geographical breeds are described: Acipenser gueldenstaetii colchicus in the Black Sea Basin, Acipener gueldenstaedies in the Northern Caspian Sea and Acipenser gueldenstaetii persicus in the South of the Caspian Sea

Angel sharks are a group of Squatina-like sharks of the Squatinidae family that look somewhat unusual, with flattened bodies and wide pectoral fins, which give them a strong resemblance to sea cats. This kind is the only one in his family and the order Squatiniformes. They appear worldwide in temperate and tropical seas. Most species live in temperate or tropical deep seas, but a few species live in deeper water, up to 1.300 meters (4.300 feet).[2] angel sharks are sometimes called "monk-pest", although this name applies to members of the genus Lophius

The visa (Acipenser nuciventris) is a cdulcicol, bentonic fish of the acipenseride family (Acipenseridae) spread in rivers flowing into the Black Sea, the Azov Sea, the Caspian Sea and the Aral Lake. It is a species threatened with extinction. In Romania and the Republic of Moldova, there has been no fishing for 50 years and is considered as a missing species. In Romania it was meeting in the Danube, from Bazias to Galati, exceptionally in delta. It also rises in the lower course of the Dunarii tributaries (Prut, Siret, etc.) and in Nistru to the Dubasari dam.

Persian sprions ( Acipenser persicus ) is a fish species of the family Acipenseridae . It is found in the Caspian Sea and, to a lesser extent, in the Black Sea and climbing on certain rivers to reproduce, in particular the rivers Volga , Kura , Araks and Ural . It is hard fishing for its meat and eggs and is limited in its river migrations, through the dykes of rivers. Young fish feed on small invertebrates, reaching higher prey, such as crabs and fish as they grow. The threats faced by this fish include overfishing with the removal of immature fish before they are reared, river blocking, loss of breeding areas and water pollution. The International Union for nature Conservation listed fish as critically endangered and suggested that increased supply of farms could be of benefit.

Sipul (Acipenser sturio) is a endangered marine, benthic, anadrom fish from the Acipenseridae family, which was spread from the atlantic coastline of Europe to Norway, the Baltic, North, Mediterranean, Adriatic and Black Seas. "It's on the rivers for long distances." Today, this species lives only in the Garonne River (France). In Romania, it has not been fishing for 60 years and is considered a missing species, in the past it was found along the coast and in front of the Danube mouths, and in the Danube it was only reported in delta

Pastuga (Acipenser stelllatus) is a sturgeon species that live in the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea and the Azov Sea
