The group consist of 30 students whose average age is 10 years old. They understand and follow instructions trying to put in practice the new vocabulary and expressions worked in each session.

Learners are going to use the ICT TOOL (VOKI) in order to describe their favorite video game or entertainment TV programme.

TASK

RATIONALE

Learners love sharing with their classmates, their own experiences, thoughts, and especially their hobbies and preferences. Despite the weaknesses and difficulties that still they evidence it is important to encourage them to participate actively to improve this relevant speaking skill.

DESIGN

STEPS1. To introduce learners to the new vocabulary and expressions related to entertainment, teacher plays a video named: Types of video shows, link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wT5mNkqVrSM . 2. Later on, teacher encourages learners to take notes on their notebooks about the diverse kind of TV programs and in addition, they should mention examples of these kind of TV programs that they have seen. 3. Considering the introduction of new vocabulary, learners watch the video named: How to speak about Entertainment in English. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZJdaTk6dVg. Teacher is going to pause the video in order that learners take notes and also, teacher remarks some relevant phrases and expressions.

STEPS4. Learners are going to practive the vocabulary worked in the previous sessions through the ICT TOOL: WORDWALL https://wordwall.net/es/resource/11015022/entertainment-tv-programmes 5. Teacher shows the ICT TOOL : VOKI and explain to the learners how use it to record their voices and put in practice the vocabulary and expressions learnt about the entertainment context. 6. Learners should record their voices describing their favorite TV programme or video game.

DESCRIPTION

This activity´s aim is to continue improving the speaking skill through the usage of an ICT TOOL (Voki). This tool results exciting for the learners due to the fact that records their voices and in addition, lets them choose a dynamic speaking character.
