It is believed Medieval pilgrims used to greet each other with 'Ultreia, Suseia, Santiago', meaning something like 'beyond,upwards, Santiago'. Other sources suggest 'Ultreia' was used in the same way as 'Hallelujah', once pilgrims finally reached Santiago de Compostela.
