This went out to families... Dear MCPS Families, Thank you for all of your support during the unique circumstances this past year has presented all of us. As an IT department we have been amazed each day seeing how families have adapted to the changing landscape and we have enjoyed being there to help you along the way. We are reaching out to provide guidance on the technology your students have as we close out this school year. Chromebooks We are pleased to announce that Chromebooks will remain with students over the summer! We want students to continue to have access to educational programs to prepare them for the new school year. Please keep the chromebook and charger in a safe place! If you need any help with the chromebook over the summer, if it needs a repair, or you are not returning next school year, please contact the MCPS Technology Helpdesk at 540-381-6165, option 1. Be sure your student brings their chromebook to school on the first day next year, charged and ready for learning! MiFi If your student has an MCPS MiFi checked out, we are asking that you return it before leaving school on May 25th (May 21st for Seniors). If the MiFi is needed for the summer, no worries! After checking it in the MiFi, your student can check it back out for the summer! Securly Internet Filtering MCPS uses a program called Securly for Internet filtering. They have great features to help families with Internet monitoring as well as options for limiting Internet use on school devices when they are outside of our buildings. Here is a link to some information you might find helpful along with directions for signing up for a parent account: Securly for MCPS Parents We hope everyone has a safe and fantastic summer. We are looking forward to getting back to a school year that looks more like it did before March 13th, 2020! Thank you, MCPS IT Department
Go grab yours!
