Myer Specials

  • In-Person Students:
    • Physical Education (PE)- students will participate in PE in the gymnasium or outdoors 2/cycle, and receive in-class PE 1/cycle, facilitated by the classroom teacher or teaching assistant.
    • Library, Music, Art- special area teachers will push-in to classrooms to teach these content areas in-person on a rotational basis. When the special area teacher is not teaching them in-person, the teacher or TA will facilitate the special and students will complete the activity.
  • Remote Students:
    • Students will visit their new Remote Specials Team to complete the activities & assignments according to the letter day schedule.
    • Each special area has its own channel
    • Assignments are all housed in the same team.
    • Reach out to Mrs. Nelson if you/your child has difficulties accessing the team or assignments.

Daily COVID-19 Health Screening Please remember to complete your child's daily COVID-19 Health Screening on each day of in-person instruction. Check your email daily and click the link for each child to complete this survey before your child arrives at school. Please refer to this guide which outlines when to keep your child home and when they can return. Please notify the help desk (943-3020) if you do not receive this screening form in your email.

KCSD is offering Summer School to ALL This summer, KCSD will offer in-person programs for students in all Grades K-12. Programming at every level will offer both academic and social-emotional benefits. K-3 Summer Programs: Summer programming will include instruction on math, literacy and social-emotional wellness. Instruction will be both academic and fun through the integration of project based learning. All instruction will be in-person and will adhere to all safety measures of social distancing and mask wearing. Summer programming will also include both breakfast and lunch at no charge to families. Elementary Summer Programs are Monday-Friday, 8:45am-1:30pm.Session 1 will be held at George Washington Elementary School July 6 - July 23.Session 2 will be held at Chambers Elementary School July 26 - August 13. Meet the Board of Education Candidates The Kingston City School District would like to thank Radio Kingston and Kingston Wire for hosting this event to meet and learn more about this year’s Board of Education candidates. This public forum will take place Monday, May 17 from 5:30-7:00pm on Radio Kingston and also live-streamed on Radio Kingston’s Facebook page. All five candidates will be on hand via Zoom to talk about the issues and take questions from the community. Questions can be submitted in the comments section of the event on Facebook. The event will be co-moderated by Radio Kingston host of La Voz and Managing Editor of La Voz magazine, Mariel Fiori, and Kingston Wire Senior Correspondent Jesse J. Smith. The five candidates this year are James Shaughnessy, Michele Milgrim, Matthew Branford, Herb Lamb, and Robin Jacobowitz. The three candidates who receive the most votes will serve a three-year term on the KCSD Board of Education, beginning July 1, 2021. Spanish interpretation will be available. Radio Kingston can be heard at 1490 AM, 107.9 FM and online at RadioKingston.org Voting will take place on Tuesday, May 18 at all seven district elementary schools.
