At the end of this three-day workshop, students will have the chance to dig into who they are as leaders, set goals for who they want to become, and develop an action-oriented plan for how they can use their strengths to make a difference on their team, in their club, or within the groups they lead.Grades 9 - 12

Week of 6/14 - 6/1810:00 am - 12:00 pmThis workshop will introduce students to the multi-genre format of writing; students will be led through the drafting process in order to compose a piece of writing that is comprised of several self-contained mini-pieces that are connected by a theme or topic that is impactful to the writer.Grades 9 + 10

June 16th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 28th10am - 12pmThis is a chance to engage in experiential learning to gain a better understanding of communication skills as well as cooperative teamwork skills. Games include partner tag, building and rebuilding, as well as a group juggling experience.Grades 6 - 8

Sign up for one or multiple dates from: June 8, 15, 22, 2411:30am - 3:00pm (end time may vary slightly)Walk and talk local lunch and learn: Students will walk to local businesses within the area to sample healthy fare, learn or do something, and return back where we started - all on our two feet or COGO bike. Students should wear sunscreen, bring plenty of water, dress for the weather, be prepared for rain, and ready to use your body to get places. A day pack, fanny pack, or backpack might be useful to carry any necessities for our adventures. Students bring money just incase they would like to purchase a snack or something on the way. Meet up location and ending time of session varies depending on travel.Grades 9- 12

Books may include Harry Potter, Call of the Wild, Black Beauty or other classic novels. Students will listen and discuss the book while drawing or creating an individual art piece. Artwork will be shared as it is developed. The movie will be shown at the end of the session to compare and contrast the book and movie.Grades 6 - 8

6/7 - 6/1810:00am - 12:00pmEveryone has a story, and our stories have the power to help us make human connections and differences in the world. This 10-day workshop-style experience will focus on using our stories to build empathy and understanding and to affect change. Students will engage in a variety of fun and creative hands-on activities to learn how to craft and share their personal stories effectively. We will also engage in activities designed to help us become more compassionate listeners. This is a no-stress experience with no grades and no homework! Come relax and have fun connecting with new friends and reconnecting with old friends!Grades 8 - 10

Week of 6/14 - 6/1812:30pm - 2:00pmStudents will be taught how to crochet simple headbands and coffee cup coozies. Students who participate in this session will be donating their crochet items to a local charity organization for babies/children in need of headbands and for nursing/other staff who would benefit from a coozie. Students will be permitted to log crochet hours as service hours. Crochet supplies will be provided.Grades 9 + 10

After choosing nickel (silver-colored) or brass (gold-colored) wire, you will measure just the right amount and use a torch to solder custom rings. Opportunities will be available to make a stacking set, knot rings, twisted wire, and even rings out of old spoons and forks! You will likely make 3-4 rings in this stand-alone two-hour session. Please sign up for one session, but if openings are available, you may be waitlisted for multiple sessions.Grades 6 - 8
