Famous Work
The dramatic roof sweeping up from the ground was intended to express the soaring prospects and future-oriented outlook of the Filipino people. The architectural message was that although the Philippines is a young and developing country, it has a progressive spirit. The Philippine Pavilion was well received and was judged one of the ten most popular pavilions at the exhibition.

Leandro V. Locsin was a Filipino architect, artist, and interior designer, known for his use of concrete, floating volume and simplistic design in his various projects. He was proclaimed a National Artist of the Philippines for Architecture in 1990 by the late former President Corazon C. Aquino.
