Classroom Management

1.Classroom Design: positioning tables, easels, students' artworks, and creative tools to create a warm and welcoming artroom (Cini, 2017).2.Rules, procedures, and others: display them in different parts of the classroom to foster respect and a caring environment community in my classroom (Cini, 2017). I also have IB learner's profile posters that I designed, with different photographs by famous photographers. References Cini, S. (2017). Seven Key Elements for Effective Classroom Management. At the beginning of each new unit, I introduce the general objectives, concepts, global contexts, among other components. Sometimes I don't have enough time to go into all of them in detail, so, unfortunately, sometimes I have to rush to go through some of them.

When it comes to teaching certain techniques or artistic tools or that require care, given their components, or technical handling, I must give behaviorist-oriented instruction for the safety of my students. In those cases, modeling is initially centered on me so that later the students can rehearse through drills with the expressive means until they learn to know and handle them. Depending on situations, I generally use positive reinforcements as a basic technique of behavior modification (Schunk, 2012) References Schunk, D. H. (2012). Stimulating creativity and self-expression is one of the most important goals in visual arts class. Thus, it is vital to give students the option to promote ownership and give them choices (Wolk, 2008) in their learning throughout the different stages of the creative process. Reference Wolk, S. (2008). Joy in school. The Positive Classroom, 66 (1), 8-15. Retrieved from http://www.ascd.org/publications/educational-leadership/sept08/vol66/num01/Joy-in-School.aspx Wol

I use backward design planning, "starting with the end goal, rather than a starting with the first lesson chronologically delivered during a unit or course" (Backward Design Definition, 2013). I believe It is fundamental for students to choose which products they want to create to demonstrate their learning (Wolk, 2008). They express who they are through their artistic creations. There are two things that I always do:1.Classroom Design: positioning of tables, easels, art tools, storage of artworks, and equipment in an organized fashion to create a warm and welcoming art classroom (Cini, 2017). 2. Rules, procedures, and others: display rules and procedure prompts that foster respect and a safe and caring environment (Cini, 2017). I also like to design creative posters with photographs of famous photographers to address the IB learner's profile form artistic perspectives. References Cini, S. (2017). Being frank with myself, I believe that in this course, I am acquiring new insights into behaviorist theory and how I incorporate it into my pedagogical practices and my educational philosophy. Proof of this is the feedback I gave to one of my classmates in this week's DA: Reference EDUC 5210 - AY2021-T4: Unit 2 Discussion. (2021).
