2021 Mathical Book Award Winners and Honor Books Each year, the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute selects five books as winners of the Mathical Book Awards. Winning books are selected for the following categories: Pre-K, Grades K-2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12. Honor books are also selected for each category. The awards are given in partnership with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and in coordination with the Children's Book Council (CBC).
