ROCK in the 50´contributions

(1932-2020)Little Richard was a singer with a lot of personality. He played the piano in a very different way and he maked up his eyes. His voice was the loudest and his clothes were the flashiest. His strong character made him a world music star.He is one of the early creators of Rock and Roll music in the 1950s.At the very peak of his fame, he abandoned the music business and became a traveling Evangelical preacher. In the mid-1960s, Little Richard returned to the stage and the recording studio.Some of his hits were “Tutti Frutti”, “Long Tall Sally” o "Lucille". He received a lot of awards and influence to other musicians.

In the film "Back to the future" we can see a good interpretation about Johnny B Goode.

(1926-2017)He is considering the Rock Father. For a lot of people he is the real King of Rock.“Maybellene”, “Roll Over Beethoven” o “Thirty Days” were very important hits. His song “Johnny B Goode” is considering an iconic song of Rock and Roll. It was included on a golden disc sent to space with the Voyayer mission in 1977. The mission continues today.He has influenced many rock and pop musicians who came after him like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, and Bob Dylan. He died in 2016 at the age of 90 years old.John Lennon said about him“If you had to give Rock and Roll another name, you might call it Chuck Berry.”

CHUCK BERRY

(1935)He is considering one of the most influential pianists and singers of the twentieth century.Jerry Lee Lewis was known by his nickname, The Killer. He has been described as "rock & roll's first great wild man." He burned some pianos on the stage.Some of his hits were "Great Ball of Fire", "Ooby Dooby" o "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On"

(1935-1977)He was known as the KING OF ROCK or THE KING. He is regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century. His energetic performances of songs and provocative performance style, combined with a mix of different music influences led him great success.Elvis was born in Tupelo (Mississipi, EEUU). “That´s all right” (1954) was his first single. “Heartbreak Hotel”, "Jailhouse Rock" or "Suspicious Mind" were some of his hits. He made some films and became an star very early.His mansion, Graceland, in Memphis is the second most visited house in EEUU (after The White House)
