Call your local emergency help immediately.
how to treat someone who may have been poisoned
- if the person vomits, turn his or her head to the side to prevent chocking
for swallowed poisoning- Remove anything remaining in the persons mouth. if the suspected is a household cleaner or the other chemical, read the container label and follow the instruction at the back
for poisoning in the skin - remove any contaminated clothing using gloves. rinse the skin for 15 to 20 minutes in a shower or with the hose.
For poison in the eye - gently flush the eye with cool or luke warm water for 20 minutes or until help arrives
for inhaled poison - get the person into fresh air as soon as possible.
- begin cpr if the shows no signs of life, such as moving breathing or coughing
- have somebody gather pill bottles, packages or containers with labels, and any other informationabout the poison to send along with the ambulance team
