It can be said that Rusko Waste Center "Kiertokaari" reduces our carbon footprint most effectively in the world among waste treatment plants. It is a carbon-neutral economy center. At the Rusko waste center, a microturbine plant with which we produce the electricity and heat needed by the waste center from biogas. We also supply biogas to industry and as a transport fuel. We also generate electricity with our own solar power plant. We refuel our company's refined biogas into five gas cars. The majority (2019: 99.55%) of the municipal waste we receive is utilized as material, energy or in other ways.
