Platforms
Google Drive

Seesaw
Google Drive
Creating Folders to Organize Google Drive 1. Folder Structures for Teachers a. Organize using folders (don't worry about file names). b. Numerical systems are effective and support detailed structures. c. Color coding will support your numerical systems and will make searching for more efficient. 2. Folder Structures for Students a. Students should organize content by year. b. Within the yearly folders, have students organize content by subject or content area. Foster these skills early and consistently aids students in building computer literacy skills. 3. Adding Visuals to Organization Structures a. Another way to create personalized folder organization is to add emojis or characters to the naming conventions of the file folders To add these visuals, use websites like emojipedia.com and copy/paste the icons into the folder name.
Shared With Me 1. Grab the Files you Need a. You can not organize the Shared With Me section. b. You do not own any of the files listed the Shared With me section. i. Select "Add to Drive" to add/organize the file in your Google Drive account. NOTE: You still DO NOT OWN the file. c. If you want anything listed in the Shared With Me, make a copy of the file.
All items in your trash will be unrecoverable after 30 days.
Power Tool: Search Within Google Drive 1. Advanced Search a. Use the advance search menu to find files and folders. This is fastest route for finding your content.

Planning for LTI External Tools
+info
Planning for LTI Tools 1. LTI External Tools Can't Be Copied a. Each LTI external tool (Google, Nearpod, Flipgrid, etc.) attaches to Canvas differently. When you copy an assignment, the LTI (generally speaking) won't be attached to the copied assignment. b. The best way to organize your LTI related assignments is to create a note for each assignment and to place that note in your assignment's Rich Content Editor (RCE).
Third Step
Download Gradebook
+info
Download Canvas Grade Book 1. Archiving the Canvas Grade Book 2. Purpose of Copying Canvas Grade Book a. This export will be an archived copy of your Canvas grade book. We recommend that you store this file in a Google Drive Folder so that you can access it easily if you need to address grading questions with parents or other stake holders. (Resource)

Fourth Step
Copy Canvas Course
+info
Copy Canvas Course 1. Copy Canvas Course 2. Archiving Course Content a. These copied courses will be an archive of your previous courses for safe keeping and later use. Copied courses will help you with building content into your new courses next year. As you build, you can refer to these courses to remind you of what you have done in the past with your classes. Organize Canvas Content
+info
Organize Canvas Content 1. Creating and Organizing Modules a. Evaluate your course, and select an organizational framework that best meets your needs. You can organize by week, content, subject, with emojis, or numerically. b. To create a module, select the "+" symbol and give your module a name. (Resource) c. As the year progresses, put the most recent module at the top of the module page. (Resource) d. Remember that using a system ensures that students do not need to spend a lot of time scrolling through the content to access the lessons. Bonus TIP!!! Creating the vertical line within a your modules is EASY! Look for the backslash key (on most keyboards it can be found under the backspace key). Select "Shift" + Backslash and Voila! You have a vertical line!" | "
First Step
Canvas Course Access After the School Year Comes to an End
School Has Come to An End What does this mean for Canvas Courses? 1. View Only Mode a. Teachers (and students) have read only access to their courses. (This does not include manually created courses.) 2. Accessing Past Enrollments a. If you need to view courses from previous courses, check the past enrollments page.
Seesaw
Closing Out the School Year with Seesaw 1. Teacher Access to Student Seesaw Assignments a. Teachers will lose access to all student student assignments. (You will have access to the original activities you created.) 2. Student Seesaw Assignments a. Students will be able to access their work even after the school year ends from their Seesaw portfolio. (Check out the DLT webinars for more information.) 3. Keeping Student Work Samples a. If you would like to download student exemplars use the dots next to the activity assignment to save the work as an image.
Archiving and Collections in Seesaw 1. Organizing Activities Through Seesaw Library Collections a. All of the activities you have created this year are automatically saved to your "My Library". b. Use the collections feature to organize your activities based on your needs.
