Continental part of Croatia It is full of plains and hills. Here is our capital city Zagreb (photo below) and our city of Osijek.

Coastal part of Croatia The Adriatic Sea is one of the main treasures of Croatia. With more than 600 islands it is one of the most beautiful coasts in the world.

Mountainous part of Croatia It has very low population density but very preserved nature with its gem- Plitvice lakes- one of many Croatian UNESCO heritage sites.

Slavonia

Slavonia Slavonia is the name of our region. Between the Danube, the Drava and the Sava rivers it is a region full of plains and interesting small towns famous for their hospitality and gastronomy.

Osijek

• Fourth largest city in Croatia- the lagrest in it's east part
• unversity city
• greenest city in Croatia- many parks and green surroundings
• city colours: blue and white

Tvrđa Tvrđa is an old part of city. It is an old baroque fortress built in 18th and 19th century because of the wars with Ottoman Empire. Now it is the center of education, recreation and night life.

"Upper city" City center has a unique triangle square and 90 meter high gothic St. Peter and Paul con- cathedral.

Nature park Kopački rit is just around the corner!

Tram in Osijek Osijek has the first tram line in Croatia and it is still the main public transport in town.

Osijek- mosquito city Osijek is well known in Croatia as a mosquito city. At the beginning of summer we have many problems with mosquitoes and it could be a real problem that can determine the way of life. They bite mostly at the beginning of the evening when the heat goes down. It is interesting that only the female mosquitoes bite. Most of mosquitoes come from Nature park Kopački rit because we can't eliminate them there. Now they have become a part of jokes and one of the symbols of our city.

City dictrict of Osijek

New stadium FC Osijek The new stadium under construction has greatly ruined Pampas.  The construction of the stadium caused a lot of controversy because protected zone of the river become one of the biggest construction zone in the region.

​The Danube and the Drava river- European AmazonThese two rivers make big floodplains full of swamps and this is the reason we use to call it European Amazon. Most of the area is protected in Croatia but also in Hungary and Serbia. This is the place where the Drava (the muddy one) meets the Danube.

Pampas- recreation zone By the mid-20th century it was a floodplain but now it is recreation zone with hippodrome, big shooting range (many European competitions were held there), cycling paths, picnic area, beach and so on...
