Florence Nightingale was born into a british family in 1820 in Florence.She takes her name from the city where she was born.Her parents expect her to become a wife and mother,she decides to became a nurse in the 1854 when the crimean war began she worked in early street in London.After reading a lot of news about the bad treatment of sick and wounded solidiers she went to Crimea to find out.

She realized that soldiers died more from disease than fromwar and gives than better conditions.She known as THE LADY OF THE LAMP because every night she walked around with a lamp.In 1860 she starts nursing school,and she wrote her first book of nursing.She died in 1910 in London

The life of Florence nightingale

The crimean war was a military conflict fought from october 1853 to Frbruary 1856 in wich Russia lost to an alliance made up of France, the Ottoman empire, the united Kingdom and Sardinia.The immadiate cause of the war involved the might of cristian minorities in holy lend. In october 1853, having optined promises support from France and Britain, the ottomans declared war with Russia.Britain, fearing Russian expansion towards the mediterranean ,joined France and both moved to defend Turkey, declaring war to Russia in the March 1854.

THE CRIMEAN WAR

Austria politically supported the western powers and the Kingdom of Sardinia.The conflict took place mainly in the russian peninsula of Crimea,where western allied traps besinged the city of Sevastop, the russian naval base on the Black sea.After the final attack by the western allies Sevastopal was abandonaded by the defenders on 9 September 1855,leading to the defeat of Russia.The paris congress of 1856 enstabilished the conditions of peace.On 21 October 1854 authorized by Sidney Herbert,Nightingale left for Turkey with 38 other volunter nursess

Field hospital were used in both world warland world war II .Making some changes by establinshing new ordinances .

Subsequently it became a private law body and recognized voluntary rescue and assistance company.The founder was D. R Cesar Castillo was created june 15 , 1864 in Milan .

Florence Nightingale served and became a member of the uk order of merit and a member of the royal red cross.The order of merit is and honor confered by SOVEREIGN of the United Kingdom Edward VII wich Florence took on 12 may 1907.Florence had many honors but among the most important we find THE ORDER OF THE ENGLESH ROYAL RED CROSS headed by Elizabet II for exceptional merits of assistens to the wondead and sick during the Crimean war.

Florence has done a lot for man nd fot this reason in Italy and in the world there are many monuments for her memory such has in the basilica of SANTA CROCE in Florence where a statue of her found,in Instambul one tower was trasformed into a war museum of Crimea,in London instead we find two museum,one in her sister's house and one near the Thomas hospital, a statue and her voice recorded in 1890 was capt in the sound arckives of the british library while in Bologna public gardens where created in her honors.In the word they have not only built monuments and museums to remember this woman who elhfed those in need but have also set up word days such us may 12, or her birthday today celebrated as world nursis day.Many things where dedicated to her but among the most particular we find the MC DONNELL DOUGLAS C-9 or an air plain dedicated to the transport of seriouly PNJURED people and an asteroid 3122 Florence descovered 1981.
