LIMITATIONS
ADVANTAGES
- One of the limitations we’ve encountered with Genially is the limit of the user editing. Though it can be collaborative as they said because you can share it to more than 1 person, nly one (1) user can edit the presentation at a time. Not like with others, (i.e. Canva) which you can work collaboratively by working with the presentation at the same time.
- Free to use
- Free Templates
- Free use of Graphics

BACKGROUND
Indonesia is a country that is located off the coast of Southeast Asia in the Indian and Pacific oceans.
RELIGION
+ info
Indonesia is notorious for its huge Muslim population; the largest in the world despite being a secular country by law.
+ INFO
TRADITIONAL BELIEF SYSTEMS
Indonesia’s diversity extends to the variety of belief systems as well. Many communities still live traditionally and still uphold the religions and practices of their ancestors, often unique to the locality.
Many Indonesians who find themselves in modern settings still find ways to integrate their traditions and cultural values into the contemporary lifestyle.
TRADITIONS
Aboriginal whaling – Whale hunting festival
Ma’nene (Bringing the dead back from the grave)
Kasada (East Java): Harvest Offering Ritual
Pasola (Sumba): War Reenactment with Horses
Ngurek (Bali): Body Hurting Ritual

Today, Indonesia is the world’s fourth most populous nation, the world’s 10th largest economy in terms of purchasing power parity, and a member of the G-20.
ECONOMY
+ info
1997
In the aftermath of the 1997 Asian financial crisis, the government took custody of a significant portion of private sector assets through the acquisition of non performing bank loans and corporate assets through the debt restructuring process and the companies in custody were sold for privatization several years later.
Economy
No UN access for West Papua
Rising Discrimination
Indonesia Draconian Criminal code
Precise estimates on deaths are difficult because access to Papua is limited. Indonesian authorities have detained and charged at least 22 people for peaceful acts of free expression
Since early 2016, Indonesian politicians, government officials, and state offices have issued anti-LGBT statements, calling for everything from criminalization to “cures” for homosexuality
Indonesia’s parliament is discussing a new draft code with a raft of problematic provisions that would be disastrous for women and minorities, and for many Indonesians in general.
ECONOMIC PROBLEMS
Rising Religous Intolerance
Defence Minister Implicated in Abuses
The Indonesian army dismissed Prabowo in 1998 over allegations of kidnapping of more than two dozen activists in 1997-98 during the fall of Suharto.
Indonesia’s blasphemy law punishes deviations from the central tenets of Indonesia’s six officially recognized religions Islam, Protestantism, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucianism
ECONOMIC PROBLEMS
Philippines
Indonesia
The Philippines, just like Indonesia, has a very rich culture. What lacks the people in the Philippines is the promotion, the enrichment, and the appreciation of their traditional culture and practices.
Indonesia is known for enriching their own culture. From unique ways of respecting their dead loved ones, reenacting wars for entertainment, praising their gods for harvest, and preserving their natural resources and historic places. Religion is also important to them.
synthesis
There are a lot of ways to enrich our own traditions and our culture. We just have to choose to do it. If Indonesia can improve their economy after the 1997 Asian financial crisis and now has the world’s 10th largest economy, the Philippines can also improve its system. #RegisterToVote
