Shakespeare Most academic studies in literature include at least one play by Shakespeare and dark and light symbolism abound in many of his works. In "Macbeth," darkness is used a number of times to symbolize death. The famous line, "Out, out brief candle," refers to Lady Macbeth's suicide. Banquo's torch is extinguished at the moment of his death.

In "Romeo and Juliet," light is used to show Juliet's beauty and her dazzling influence on Romeo. When Romeo first sees Juliet, he says, "O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!" (Act I, scene 5, line 45) Even when she dies, her brightness endures. When Romeo finds her in the tomb, he says, "A grave? O, no, a lantern, slaughtered youth, For here lies Juliet, and her beauty makes This vault a feasting presence full of light " (Act V, scene 3. lines 84-86)

Robert Frost Robert Frost was probably one of America's favorite modern poets and his poems contain many images of light. In "Nothing Gold Can Stay," Frost uses the images of gold and dawn to represent beauty and innocence. These light-filled elements are brief, emphasizing the fleeting nature of beauty and life.

The Great Gatsby "The Great Gatsby" is one of America's most popular novels and in it F. Scott Fitzgerald also used darkness and light symbols. Light is used to symbolize idealism and dreams. Daisy, Gatsby's unattainable love interest, is frequently dressed in white. A green light at the end of a dock figures prominently in the novel as a beacon of the great American dream. Meyer Wolfsheim, a gambler, introduced in a dark restaurant cellar. The darkness from which he emerges symbolize greed, corruption and the seedy side of the city.
PLATO (the famous myth of cave)
The great Greek philosopher takes the basic idea, that light is what reveals the truth of the thing. Reality exists, but it is perceived only when it is enlightened. In fact, if one sees only the shadows of the thing, it is very likely that one realizes only a part of the truth.
Umberto Eco
The Italian philosopher and novelist , writes that the intellectuals of the Middle Ages had an “image of the universe that was filled with light and optimism” [Art and Beauty in the Middle Ages (1986, )]. In both poetry and painting, medieval people portrayed themselves as living in extremely bright surroundings. In medieval manuscripts light “seems to radiate out from the objects. They are luminous in themselves.” They are creations of a Creator that is Light itself. [History of Beauty (2004, )]
Dante Alighieri
Dante in ''Divine Comedy'', guided by Virgil, "descends" to Hell, to come to light again with the Resurrection and to "ascend" to the Purgatory and Paradise :We took the road with the teacher the secret to the light world and we went up breathlessly, fearless, he front me back, until I saw the graces of heaven from an all-round opening in the rock. And we went out to see the stars again. " Every hell has its way out ...

The light coming down from the sky is more common in the time of the Uyghurs Bögü-Kağan, that is, M.S. It must be a motif related to the Mani religion that they adopted in 763. In the belief of the Sky God, there are events of light coming down from the sky. In the Mani religion, literature has developed on this subject. In addition, there are beliefs about the coming of light from the sky in Chinese legends. It is known that light emerges from the Beech Tree in the Descent of the Uighurs, where Manichaeism is called "the religion of light".

"LIGHT" IN TURKISH PEOPLE BELIEFS FROM PAST TO PRESENT
According to Han-nama, while Alan-Kawa, an ancestor of Genghis-Khan, was lying in his tent, a bright moon suddenly entered through the window and conceived Alan-kawa. As the moon entered from the tent, something like Kurt and Arslan appeared in the woman's eyes. In another rumor, a light like moonlight entered through the window and again this light came out in the form of Arslan and Wolf; was gone. In the secret history of the Mongols, Alan-Kawa, while lying on his bed at night, entered the moonlight coming from the chimney of the tent, a bright and blond man, shining light, entered the woman's stomach and then took the form of a dog and climbed into the moonlight beam.
In Turkish mythology, it is known that the Moon is male and the Sun is female. The thing that plays a role in conception in our mythology is God himself or his messenger, whose lights and descending with these lights, entering instead of a symbolic animal.Legends stating that the moon is male and the sun is female and the moon is in love with the sun are also common among Azerbaijan Turks.

According to the belief of the ancient Turks, human beings are under the influence of two opposite forces (light) and (darkness). Light of these is found in the Sky. He radiates light and goodness to the earth. The sun's rays warm the earth. The moon and stars at night reduce the darkness and coldness of the earth. Darkness resides in the cold and evil of the earth. It is the source of evil and Death. Between these two conflicting forces is Yer-Sub (Yer-Water).

Karagöz and Hacivat are the lead characters of the traditional Turkish shadow play. The central theme of the plays are the contrasting interaction between the two main characters. Karagöz represents the illiterate but straightforward public, whereas Hacivat belongs to the educated class, speaking Ottoman Turkish and using a poetical and literary language. Although Karagöz has definitely been intended to be the more popular character with the Turkish peasantry, Hacivat is always the one with a level head. Though Karagöz always outdoes Hacivat's superior education with his "native wit," he is also very impulsive and his never-ending deluge of get-rich-quick schemes always results in failure.

Story with Three Titles: The Story of the Firefly / Why the Propeller Hug the Candle's Flame / Whose Feel It Is To Be In Love
There used to be a lake that resembled heaven. There were uniquely beautiful flowers around the lake, butterflies with enormous patterns on their wings, and colorful insects. Swans danced gracefully in the lake, and birds sang magically beautiful songs on the branches of the trees near the lake, which gave the most delicious fruit. Then one day a firefly came to the shore of this lake. As soon as the firefly, who was looking tired and looking for a place to sleep, came close to the place where he was placed, but a very beautiful small creature, which was as small as a firefly, would stop and watch. While the firefly was saying hello to this creature with a smile, this little creature phrase stuffed the firefly's mouth and said, "Get out of here!" he shouted. Then all of a sudden, all insects, including butterflies, flew to where the sound came from.
By: Eren Özkaradeniz
Without realizing what it is, the firefly is caught in the midst of dozens of insects. The firefly, which was quite tired, for a moment forced himself and lifted his head so that what he saw, dozens of living things fly as much as himself. The firefly, who did not understand anything, would turn to the insect that shouted at itself and say what happened, while a butterfly suddenly said, "Get out!" he shouted louder. Firefly, rising from a cloud of insects flying overhead, "Ugly! Ugly! Get out! You do not suit here! " begins to understand the meaning of their voices, which is actually an inappropriate one among nationals. The most beautiful insects of the world by the world's most beautiful lake, which makes him feel good even with all the exhaustion of the road he came, resembling the garden of Eden, humiliate him as ugly.
The firefly cannot stand these minutes of humiliation and expulsion. He gets up and tries to go as best he can, but that doesn't work. He does not need to breathe stuck in his chest, wiping the tears running from his eyes. It crashes and stays where it is. Those who humiliate him as ugly understand the situation after a while and relax for a moment and then take a step or two away. As the firefly falls asleep in tears with its desire to go, the world's most beautiful insects, watching it from afar, are in a race to describe it in the most humiliating terms. They are the only silent birds from the first moment. Then it gets dark. The bugs rest on the leaf of a flower, but everyone is frightened inside because there are clouds and no moonlight. In the pitch-black darkness, everyone tells the moonless night to the bad luck of the ugly firefly. While everyone is in fear and hate, a light is emitted from the firefly's body. Everyone's eyes are wide open. Some people get rid of hatred and fear and rejoice at the thought that the firefly is beginning to burn alive. Some begin to feel fear and regret, thinking that the firefly is lighting a fire that will take revenge on them. Some even think of asking for mercy from this ugly being rather than dying if things go wrong. Others try to make sense of this in total darkness, and their only feeling is curiosity. They quietly wait for what will happen. The firefly starts to move and barely turns to the insects, "Sorry for the uneasiness I gave me with my ugliness, I would sleep a little longer and leave before you wake up in the morning. Now, believe me, I have no power to fly. But believe me, I will even go so far that you will forget me immediately." he says. In fact, no one listens to him, everyone admires how the light of the firefly, which he is not aware of, makes him beautiful in the pitch-black darkness, and does not say anything to him. As the light of the firefly burns like moonlight in the bosom of the black night, its beauty soon turns admiration into jealousy. When they ask how the firefly, the ugliest being in the daytime world, can be beautiful in the dark, they go crazy with jealousy when they cannot find the answer. Because some cry is not that nice, some get into a fight with others out of anger. Falling insects fight for hours in the light of the firefly. Their anger and jealousy make them fight until they debilitate. Then a butterfly said, "Stop!" she shouts. Suddenly it fell into silence. The butterfly comes in the light of the firefly as everyone watches it and asks the firefly "Where did you get this light?" he. Firefly does not understand, "What light?" he says.
+info
The butterfly apologizes for saying in the daylight. He has a short time left, he tells that he will die and that he wants to be as beautiful before morning. Everyone is listening to both of them with full attention. The firefly understands the light-bug issue, but nods and says, "I don't know where I got this light, it was always with me." he says. "I even had it with my mom and dad." Until that day, he had fired the firefly as ugly, but the lake inhabitants and the Butterflies do not believe in fireflies. He thinks he's playing the fool because everyone but fireflies is aware that they are all beautiful only when there is light. At night, in the dark, especially if the moon does not come out, none of them are even ugly, they simply perish. “The firefly is hiding from us. Come on, let's go the way it came together. If we find the light and the place, we will be the most beautiful creatures in the world at night as well as during the day! The insects take off suddenly and move in the direction the firefly would come from. It is morning. The butterfly dies before dawn, in jealousy, without seeing the sun. The other snob continues in search of insects. At one point the propeller suddenly screams, "Here it is!" he. There is a hut in the distance, the window is open. A man with a long beard is writing something under candlelight at a table. All insects fly rapidly towards the light of the candle, first place is on the propeller. The propeller sees the light of the candle flame and flies around the light for a while. He waits so that the light will be in him and it will be beautiful in the dark. When it flies for a while, it goes out and looks at a dark place, which is still dark. It comes back quickly. It flies a little closer to the light of the candle flame, when its wings begin to glow, it goes further away into the darkness. It looks that it cannot light the darkness. is without light. He remembers how the firefly glows like a star and returns to the light of the candle flame.
Story Research by: Derin U Ay College - Dilek DAĞ
The man watches all this in silence without moving. The propeller thinks that the only way to get the light is to touch the light, and when he thinks once more that the ugly firefly he has humiliated for hours is more beautiful than him, he embraces the fire of the candle flame, his wings burn with jealousy, dying with dying. The man gets up from the table, picks up a new blank paper, picks up ink and starts to write something. Firefly, on the other hand, goes in the direction it is moving towards the place where the sun rises. It is rumored that since that day, every insect wanted the light of the firefly to be its own light, so whenever it was dark, it would always look for the light and rush to the light. Again, it is rumored that those who loved butterflies and butterflies were jealous. And it is also rumor that if human beings are so stupid that even though they are the only beings in the universe that can actually carry love, they are so stupid that they can fall in love with other beings.

Light Light, my light, the world-filling light, the eye-kissing light, heart-sweetening light! Ah, the light dances, my darling, at the center of my life; the light strikes, my darling, the chords of my love; the sky opens, the wind runs wild, laughter passes over the earth. The butterflies spread their sails on the sea of light. Lilies and jasmines surge up on the crest of the waves of light. The light is shattered into gold on every cloud, my darling, and it scatters gems in profusion. Mirth spreads from leaf to leaf, my darling, and gladness without measure The heaven's river has drowned its banks and the flood of joy is abroad. Rabindranath Tagore

The Light By The Barn The light by the barn that shines all night pales at dawn when a little breeze comes. A little breeze comes breathing the fields from their sleep and waking the slow windmill. The slow windmill sings the long day about anguish and loss to the chickens at work. The little breeze follows the slow windmill and the chickens at work till the sun goes down-- Then the light by the barn again. William Stafford

Sudden Light
I have been here before, But when or how I cannot tell: I know the grass beyond the door, The sweet keen smell, The sighing sound, the lights around the shore. You have been mine before, — How long ago I may not know: But just when at that swallow's soar Your neck turn'd so, Some veil did fall,—I knew it all of yore. Has this been thus before? And shall not thus time's eddying flight Still with our lives our love restore In death's despite, And day and night yield one delight once more? DANTE GABRIEL ROSSETTI

Light of the TeamGrass, breeze, sweat I'm in the field ready to play our last game. Will we be champions? The sun is shining and that light gives me energy to shine, to be a start in the field and the light of the team. Gonçalo Neves - class 8F AE Gaia Nascente
What is this light? Intense and shiny light, invading my room A light that makes me want to jump out of bed. It calls me, in my darkness, I don't know if I should stay or go. That's the question. Yellow Color
Do you know why the yellow color is my favorite? Because it is the color of light, the color that illuminates and stands out from all the others, but at the same time, I think it is the saddest color too, because how often are we not the yellow color? Always being the light of other people even if ours is off.
