Meaning Of Light
What does Light Represent in the Bible?
One of the most important symbol of Catholicism is the light. The story of Creation begins with the words: God said: “Let there be light and there was light “Light in contrast with the darkness”. In the Bible God is Light “…the sun that will never go down. Catholics use this term Light to refer to the God. It’s not a case if in the Catholic church the use of the candles is important. In the liturgies, the candle is the emblem of light seen as an instrument of salvation and purification. The light of the Candle reminds to God. For example the Easter candle or the baptismal candle gives to the Christians a message God is around us and thanks to His light we can live in communion with Him. Living in his light means not to live in darkness. In the catholicism there’s the act of offering a candle, this is the homage of the Cristians towards God , Christ and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of prayer an humble action. God is Light – Light is the revelation of His presence in the world. Istituto S.Mottura - Italy
