How can I use technology so my students and I gain functional advantages?

I want to know more about SAMR.

The SAMR Model is a framework created by Dr. Ruben Puentedura that categorizes four different degrees of classroom technology integration. While it’s often visualized as a ladder or staircase as above, this can be misleading because Substitution (the bottom of the ladder) is sometimes the best choice for a particular lesson. This is why it’s better to think of the SAMR model more as a spectrum. On one end technology is used as a one-to-one replacement for traditional tools, and on the other end technology enables experiences that were previously impossible without it.-Source: Schoology Exchange

How do I integrate technology to replace a more traditional tool ?

SubstitutionWith substitution, you use technology to directly replace a more traditional tool. For example: -You can use an online version of the material you use in class provided by the publisher.* -Students use online quizzes instead of paper.-Students use a word processing app to write and produce texts instead of pen and paper.*Make sure that you have the permission before reproducing and distributing copyrighted publications, and give proper attribution. Something that is found on an online page is not necessarily yours to copy and paste to your students.

How can I use technology so my students and I gain functional advantages?

AugmentationJust like substitution, augmentation uses technology to directly replace a more traditional tool, but gaining significant advantages at the same time. For example: -Most online quizzes can give students immediate feedback. -Students record their oral interactions for traces.-Students use spell-check features instead of paper dictionaries.

How can technology help me modify and redesign my tasks?

ModificationModification implies technology also alters the lesson or the tasks and possibly learning outcomes. For example: -Students reinvest their understanding of texts to produce an audio-visual text made when they are at home. -Teacher includes several dynamic videos to explain the same concept differently.-Students use the collaborative feature of a word processing app to write collaborative texts.

How can technology help me create previously inconceivable experiences?

Redefinition Redefinition transforms the learning and teaching experience in a way that would be unthinkiable or very difficult without technology. For example: -Students interact orally with an expert of their choice online. -Constructing meaning of texts with foreign students and teachers.-Students publish their production for an audience that is outside their school.
