OUR GOAL

Exams

HYBRID TEACHING

We use this type of teaching mode when we want to allow students to come back but we also want to stay safe.

• Class schedule is organized on premises and each class is assigned a physical classroom
• Each lesson is also broadcasted on zoom and the link is published on Kiro
• We organize small classes and some students attend on premises, the rest can watch the broadcasting or the recordings.
• The group of students that attend on premises is changed every few weeks so all students have a chance if they wish too.

Online teaching

We are ready to switch to this mode everytime it is needed:

• class schedule is organized online and each class is held on zoom - the link is published by the professor on KIRO
• students attend only online or watch the recording
• recording are published on KIRO/Drive
• teachers can decide to use the university facilities or not to held their lessons online

Exams

• Exams have been held online and on premises during the past 8 moths
• Tools: Zoom, camera (teacher/students), SEB,Kiro

Priority between on premises and online depends on the healths emergency directives and on the kind of exam (oral or written); exams on university premises are possible only if the health directives allow it.

• Access to Kiro - the University of Pavia customized moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment): all course have a dedicated space here where students may find study materials, video, link to video lessons, and sometimes take quiz and exams.
• A free licence to MATLAB for each student
• A free 365 Office license for each students
• Many of the University of Pavia library databases, electronic journals, full-text articles and reference sources are available from off-campus using PROXYBIB and access to IDEM services
• Direct Line with the Administrative Office - Online messaging system
• Online language testing simulator useful to access mobility programs such as Erasmus +
• Italian "Solidarietà digitale" for students: online services free for students to face this challenging time togethere

• Wi-Fi (both University of Pavia and Eudoroam on all UNIPV facilities)
• Multidisciplinary libraries and reading rooms available for research purposes
• All classrooms have webcams and internet cable connection to support lessons broadcasting; most of classes have power available to each desk
• All teaching staff uses an pro zoom license to automatically record and upload lessons
• Plastic-free: water dispensers in all key points
• Sanitezer points in all main entrance points to departments and faculties
• Safety Corners: vending machine with all useful tools (sanitizer, masks, etc)
• Remote temperature detectors in key entrance points with staff dedicated to checks

The key to hybrid classes is to feel and stay safe:

• when you go to class
• when you are in class
• when you finish your class and move to different premises

• It is mandadory for students to sign up if they want to go to class on premises; all professors have a list of these students and they check that their are physically in class; any eventual COVID casa has been communicated with the students in the class at the same time
• Students have follow different routes going in or out of their class - they just have to follow the correct signs
• Sanitizer and remote temperature detectors in key points

We are ready to use all our resources in finding the best teaching mode and to keep the quality of our teaching up to the standards you deserve.

• We will adapt to the current health directives so we can all stay safe
