Clara Schumann was a famous pianist and composer.She was born in Leipzig (Germany) in 1819. Her father was the famous piano teacher Friedrich Wieck and Clara was a “Child-Prodigy”. By age 11, she was already playing concerts.Clara played Chopin, Schubert, Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven compositions but she also played many own compositions in her recitals. In 1840, she married with Robert Schumann at age 21. They had eight children, but only four of them survived. She went deaf during the last stage of her life. She died in Frankfurt (Germany) in 1896. Clara Schumann belongs to Romantic period of music (1820-1910. She wrote 30 lieders, solo piano pieces and orchestral works. Her most famous piece is The Piano Trio (piano, violin, cello).
