You need:½ kg flour ¼ of butter 200gr of sugar 2 eggs ¼ kg glass sugar 1 spoon of vanilla 2 tablespoons lemon juice Green food coloring Red colorant egg whites We are going to prepare some Christmas cookies decorated in the shape of a tree, a star and a snowflake, but you can bet on other options if you want! With that said, let's get startedThe first thing is to take two containers and place the sifted flour and salt in one and the butter and normal sugar in the other. Mix the contents of the second container and, as soon as it is there, add the two eggs and integrate again. Now pour the contents of the first container into the second and beat again. If the dough has already taken hold, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for an hour. After this time, put the oven to preheat to 190ºC and remove the dough from the fridge. Flatten it with the help of a rolling pin on a flat surface and make the cookies in the shape of a tree, flake and star. As soon as they are done, put them on the baking sheet lined with kitchen paper and bake them for ten minutes. We are now going to prepare the dough with which to decorate them. Put the icing sugar, the egg whites and the lemon juice in a bowl and mix. Little by little a meringue will form and, since you will need three colors, separate the result into three bowls. If the cookies are already there, take them out and let them cool for about 15 minutes. Then, with a pastry bag, decorate them and, as soon as you have them, let them rest for two hours so that they finish being. Then you can serve them!

Cabbage RollsIngredients: Onion – Every bite should have onion in it Long grain rice – Basmati rice is best. Ground pork Fresh parsley & dill – Using fresh herbs makes such a big difference in how the flavor develops in your rolls! Salt & pepper – Season the mixture to your own discretion. Sour cabbage leaves – This is what really sets the Romanian version apart from the rest. The little hit of vinegar is to die for! Bacon – Find yourself a nice thick-cut smoky style of bacon. Tomato juice – This is what our rolls are going to sit and cook in.1.Prepare the filling: Saute the onions until translucent, then add the rice. Add the pork, salt, pepper, parsley, dill, and the onion mixture to a large bowl and mix well. 2.Roll the filling:Cut each leaf in half and fill the piece with a few tbsp of the meat mixture and roll. Try to roll these nice and tight. Repeat until all the filling has been used. 3.Assemble the rolls: Chop up the remaining cabbage leaves and add them to a large pot or deep roasting dish with a lid. Arrange all the rolls over the chopped cabbage and disperse the bacon evenly among the rolls. Pour the tomato juice over the rolls. 4.Bake the rolls: Cover the pot with a lid or foil. Serve hot with a side of sour cream. H

Kūčiukai With Poppy MilkKūčiukaiare bite-sized biscuits served with freshly made poppy milk that are only eaten during the Christmas season. You would never ever see Lithuanians having this dish any other time. So, if you want to try it, better make your way to Lithuania before Santa Claus.Poppy Seed MilkAnother special for Christmas Eve, poppy seed milk is something like Lithuanian eggnog. It is often served alongside with Christmas Eve cookies - something like breakfast cereal, only for dinner.

Cranberry Kissel DrinkKissel is found in many Eastern European cuisines, and it is usually a berry or fruit flavoured thick starchy dessert. In Lithuania, however, kissel is thinned down to a consistency of a drink, and its cranberry variety is a favorite in winter and during Christmas season.Traditionally, cranberry kissel is made by boiling cranberries, straining them, thickening the hot liquid with starch and adding sugar to taste. As a shortcut, you may heat up ready-made cranberry juice and drizzle some starch suspended in a small amount of water to thicken the juice.Voila- you have a kissel.

Not overeating on Christmas is not possible, no matter where you are in the world. Who can refuse a delicious home-cooked meal? Oh yes, mother’s food is always the best, especially on Christmas Eve, when every table in Lithuania is stacked with at least 12 different dishes. In accordance with Catholic traditions, many Lithuanians abstain from meat on Christmas, so most of the dishes are fish.
