A mountain range is a group of mountains that are close together.
Valleys are low areas of land between mountains or hills.
Plateaus are high areas of flat land.

- Summit is the top of a mountain.
- Slopes are the sides of a mountain where people ski down.
- The foot is the bottom of a mountain.

- Source: the place where a river begins.
- Tributaries: small rivers that join the main river.
- Mouth: where a river meets an ocean, sea or lake.
