My cousin Zach recently moved on into his next life after a long battle with cancer; he is a warrior I will always look up to for inspiration. As a true light to his family and in his community, I am forever grateful to be related to him. I feel so lucky to have seen him at his drive through graduation celebration this past summer, and will continue to celebrate him and his legacy moving forward.

Mi abuelito, quien siempre me apoyó a seguir mis estudios, te quiero y te extraño - Rito Tejeda 08/19/1939 - 03/19/2020

This is a photo of my grandfather, Alfredo Mejia. He always enjoyed eating his paletas during the summer. He is remembered by his daughters and grandkids.

"Photograph of my deceased grandfathers and my recently deceased aunt at my parents' wedding ceremony."

"Esta foto es de mi abuelo cuando tenía quince años. Mi familia lo perdió muy repentinamente el mes pasado, y sentimos su ausencia todos los días. Abuelo, espero que estés en un mejor lugar ahora y que puedas cuidar a tu familia y estar orgulloso de lo que creaste. Vives todos los días a través de cada uno de nosotros, que haremos todo lo posible para que estés orgulloso. Te quiero muchisimo abuelo!"

"This is a picture of the altar that me and my mom set up this year. The two pictures are of my cousin Hernan "Chino" Vidal and my maternal grandma Juana Vargas Moreno. Both lost to health complications, but live on in my memories of them :)"

My best friend Sonny Sisto passed away this year on June 1st, 2020

Our grandmother Anna Parker passed away on Thanksgiving (2019) last year

Art piece of goddess Xochitlquetzal. I honor those who have passed like my great grandparents, & I celebrate her because she brings fertility, beauty and art to this world in return even we lose those we love.

This is my uncle, Andrés Salvador Padilla Guerra, who passed away in April due to Covid-19. One of the kindest people I ever met, and truly a pillar of support for the whole family. Our whole family misses him dearly.

In memory of my Tia (on the far left) who passed away this year
