La Ruta del Sol, también conocida como Ruta Manabí-Santa Elena por que atraviesa estas dos provincias de la costa ecuatoriana, mide alrededor de 115km. La Ruta del Sol forma parte de la Ruta de Spondylus que va desde Esmeraldas hasta el norte de Perú. Es un espacio natural y cultural de gran importancia para el turismo en la franja costera del Ecuador.

Las mejores Playas de la Ruta del Sol

Montañita

Montañita toma su nombre por estar ubicada en una ensenada rodeada por cerros y vegetación al pie del mar, como un valle con una playa extensa, actualmente es un balneario turístico internacional visitado por jóvenes que practican el turismo de aventura y surfistas, sus olas derechas perfectas que llegan hasta los 2.5 m de altura, atraen a turistas de todo el mundo.

Los Frailes queda a 12 km de Puerto López. Se encuentra ubicada en el Parque Nacional Machalilla, declarado así en 1979 porque ahí viven varias especies de aves marinas y también anidan tortugas marinas.La playa Los Frailes es una de las playas más hermosas de Ecuador por su entorno natural y transparencia de sus aguas. Si te gusta caminar, puedes visitar el Mirador de las Fragatas. La vista de todo el paisaje es espectacular. A veces, entre junio y septiembre se logra ver a las ballenas jorobadas.

Salinas es una playa con todas las comodidades de una ciudad. Si vas a Salinas, no puedes perderte La Chocolatera. La Chocolatera es el punto más occidental y sobresaliente de Ecuador. Es llamada "Capital del Sol" por su privilegiada ubicación geográfica, la urbe es considerada el balneario más importante del país. Un lugar turístico muy visitado en la provincia de Santa Elena.

Salinas

Es una hermosa playa blanca situada en la provincia de Manabí, una excelente opción para practicar el surf. Canoa es muy concurrido por su vida nocturna y por sus tranquilas playas. También es un muy buen lugar para practicar diversos deportes de aventura. La mejor época para surfear es entre diciembre a mayo, cuando las olas alcanzan su mejor tamaño.

Surf

La Ruta del Sol es geográficamente propicia para los valientes que deseen practicar el surf. Esta zona del pacífico poco a poco se está convirtiendo en una de las principales capitales del mundo de este deporte extremo. Las mejores playas para practicar este deporte son:

Pesca deportiva

Básicamente la pesca es el oficio y arte de la captura de peces y otras especies marinas (en mar o río) para el consumo humano, aunque también se realiza con ánimo recreativo.Manabí por su congruencia con ríos y mares da esta oportunidad a los amantes de la pesca y de un día de campo o mar realizando esta divertida actividad.

Buceo

Una aventura bajo el mar la podrás vivir en el Parque Nacional Machalilla del cantón Puerto López, donde tendrás la oportunidad de conocer arrecifes coralinos con una biodiversidad de especies marinas como; peces, tortugas, manta rayas, crustáceos y cetáceos.

Parapente y alas delta

En Canoa se puede practicar deportes de aventura como es el parapentismo o volar en alas delta, la vista impresionante permiten ver a los aventureros que se lanza desde los acantilados, cuevas donde se encuentra la fauna del lugar como son los murciélagos y piqueros de patas azules. Y se aprovecha en marea baja para visitar la cueva.

Kite surfing

El kite surfing es un deporte de deslizamiento que consiste en el uso de una cometa de tracción que tira del deportista por cuatro o cinco líneas, dos fijas a la barra de dirección, y las dos o tres restantes de potencia, pasan por el centro de la barra y se sujetan al cuerpo mediante un arnés, permitiendo deslizarse sobre el agua mediante una tabla o un esquí del tipo wakeboard, es un deporte extremo que lo puedes realizar en la hermosa playa de Puerto López.

Además, los lugares turísticos más visitados son montañas y cascadas en Jama, la Isla Corazón e Isla Fragata, Puerto López y el avistamiento de ballenas jorobadas, la Isla de la Plata, Bahía de Caráquez, el Museo Centro Cultural Manta.

Existe una explosión de sabores que nos brindan los mariscos, y los podemos disfrutar a lo largo de las playas de la Ruta del Sol, ya sea unas ostras gratinadas en Playas, una cazuela marinera en San Pablo, unos corviches mixtos en Ayampe, o si quiere una experiencia más vivencial, el mercado de Puerto López le ofrece la oportunidad de escoger su propia corvina para que en los pequeños restaurantes ubicados al pie del mar, se la preparen apanada y con unos patacones, de esta manera podrá disfrutar de lo mejor de la gastronomía en la Ruta del Sol.

Montañita
