On the 1st of October 2020, changes to CPR 3 will come into force...

The CPR will include provisions previously set out in PD 3E…

The 122nd update to the CPR condenses the current structure from three sources: -CPR Rules;-Practice Direction; and-Precedent H guidance notes.

… into two sources: -CPR Rules; and-Practice Direction.Separate Precedent H guidance notes will cease to exist.

… and there is an important change to the circumstances surrounding revising and varying a costs budget.

The majority of PD 3E has been upgraded to CPR rules. Precedent H guidance notes have been incorporated into PD 3E.

Revising a budget upwards and downwards is not optional:-Applications for revisions must now be made promptly; monitoring expenditure following a case management order is therefore more important than ever; and- new form Precedent T is to be used when revising budgets; this must only include details of the additional costs being sought.
