CHARM-EU is Intercultural!CHARM-EU is the alliance of 5 universities from 5 different countries, with different culture, identity and history. It will also gather international students from all around the world and offer a collaborative model and a lot of mobility opportunities. This mix of diversity and interaction creates an intercultural environment which we consider as a unique chance to learn and benefit from each other.

CHARM-EU is Student-focused!Students are the core of the CHARM-EU initiative. It is made for them, and partially by them, with the constant involvement of a student body in the working groups of the alliance. The pedagogical model is made to offer them a brand new way to learn in order to face the upcoming challenges of the society. Students are the future. If we want to build the university of the future, they are the answer!

CHARM-EU is Socially responsible! We don’t want CHARM-EU to be a drop in the ocean. Having an impact on the society is what drives us. From the administrative and governing structure to the pedagogical model and the curricula design, everything is made to have a positive impact and make our society go forward. By creating a sustainable and replicable model, CHARM-EU aims to initiate a global movement and to change the European education landscape.

CHARM-EU is Sustainable! When talking about future challenges, sustainability is probably the first one that comes to mind. The main reason being this is not only a challenge for the future, it already started, and needs to be addressed right now. CHARM-EU aims to be a model of sustainability on every aspect: economically, socially, and environmentally. Global sustainability is an absolute prerequisite for a global impact on the long run.

CHARM-EU is diverse and inclusive! One of CHARM-EU's core values is inclusiveness. We strongly believe in the power of diversity to enrich the learning experience as well as academic debate, and knowledge creation and production. We see it as our social responsibility to foster an open, welcoming, and safe environment grounded in inclusivity, compassion and mutual respect, where individuals from all backgrounds, lived experiences, circumstances and access needs can collaboratively learn, work and serve. We are committed to creating excellence in teaching and learning by providing the appropriate structures and services that remove barriers to success and support student and staff access and participation needs.

CHARM-EU is Innovative! The European University concept is innovative itself, but we are taking it to the next step. We are offering a brand new pedagogical, challenge-based approach with a really unique curricula design and a lot of online solutions. Students will have the opportunity to build their own path to the diploma through a flexible phase, and to be a force bringing forward ideas and challenges through a capstone phase. An innovative model, resulting in even more innovative students.

CHARM-EU is Transparent!CHARM-EU has nothing to hide. Actually, it is the opposite. We want our recipe for success to be widely known, shared and reproduced, in order to initiate a global change. Achieving this really ambitious goal requires transparency both on the operational side and about our unique pedagogical process.

CHARM-EU is transdisciplinary! In CHARM-EU we work collaboratively using a transdisciplinary approach. We recognise that global challenges are complex problems that need input from equally complex networks of individuals and groups. We bring multiple disciplines together with students and extra-academic actors to examine challenges, synthesise approaches and mobilise to take action.
