  • ambiance: is there any music? Is it a quiet place or rather festive? Is it cosy? Modern or traditional? What about the lights?
  • cuisine: read the menu; are you looking for a particular cuisine? Do you want a good wine list? Are you vegan? Looking for organic food? Is there a broad menu suitable for everybody? Does the restaurant have a good reputation when it comes to hygiene standards?
  • waiting time: make a reservation so that you don’t have to wait for long or if making a reservation is required.
  • value for money : will you have a good value for your money? It doesn't mean it will be cheap but you will have a good meal with a fair price. Of course, make sure reading the menu for example that you can afford the place!
  • service: Look for a restaurant that has a reputation for great customer service. Shall you tip for the service? How much?

Choosing a restaurant

Which Restaurant to Choose? Are you celabrating a special occasion? Just try something new? When you take the time to choose, you are often rewarded with a great gastronomic experience built around the ambiance of the restaurant and the attitude of the staff serving you. I suggest you to choose your restaurant on a Smartphone app or on a special guide website. If there are any, look for the comments of the people who have been several times to this place. If you are on holiday, you can also ask your family or the staff where you are staying at to help you choose. Then, think! What is the most important criteria for you?

  • location: choose a place where you can walk or go with the means of transport; choose a good setting where you pay for the food, not only for the view!
