Summative assessmentThe goal of summative assessment is toevaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard or benchmark.Summative assessments are oftenhigh stakes, which means that they have a high point value.

Formative assessmentThe goal of formative assessment is to monitor student learning to provide ongoing feedback that can be used by instructors to improve their teaching and by students to improve their learning. More specifically, formative assessments:help students identify their strengths and weaknesses and target areas that need workhelp faculty recognize where students are struggling and address problems immediatelyFormative assessments are generallylow stakes, which means that they have low or no point value.

2. Presentations - Prezentacije

3. Goal Checks - Proveravanje ciljeva

4. Self and Peer Reviews - Samostalna provera i provera od strane vršnjaka

formative assessment types

1. Reflection logs - Refleksivni unosi

Learners can work together or independently to create a digital presentation that is presented to their peers. The learners should be provided with a rubric beforehand that clarifies expectations and specify which skills and information should be included in the project.Učenici mogu da trade zajedno ili individualno kada je u pitanju kreiranje digitalne prezentacije.

Reflection logs allow learners to log the details of what they are learning, their thoughts and feelings about the topic, and main ideas of the lesson learned. The instructor can use this log to track the student’s progress.

Goal checks provide learners with a goal or objective at the beginning of an eLearning lesson or module. After the lesson is complete, they are given an assessment that determines whether they achieved the goal and how much they have progressed.Očekivani ciljevi učenicima predstavljaju ono što će biti naučeno na početku časa ili modula.

Learners should be encouraged to reflect on their own progress and determine their proficiency level or knowledge mastery. They may also be evaluated by their peers, who give them feedback and insight into their work.Učenici se moraju motivisati da vrše refleksiju sopstvenog napretka i da određuju svoj nivo znanja.Učenici takođe mogu biti ocenjeni od strane vršnjaka davanjem povratne informacije.

Consider your learning objectives & measure the outcome - SWABTAre the tasks manageable?Articulate the task description clearly. Establish clear performance criteria.Specify the purpose of the assignment.

Important aspects of assignment creation

Jasno navedite svrhu zadatka.

1. Criteria: the aspects of performance that will be assessed 2. Descriptors: the characteristics associated with each dimension3. Performance levels: a rating scale that identifies students’ level of mastery within each criterion
