Stephanie: Mom, I am so sick of school.
Mom: I’m sorry, Stephanie. Why?
Stephanie: It’s so boring!
Mom: Boring?
Stephanie: Yeah, all we ever do is worksheets. We never have any fun.
Mom: Never?
Stephanie: No. My teacher just talks, then we do a page. I hate it.
Mom: Well, the school year is almost over. If you want, we can check out some other schools this summer.
Stephanie: What kind of schools?
Mom: I read a newspaper article about a new Montessori school that was opening up in the fall.
Stephanie: What is a Montessori school?
Mom: A Montessori school is a special school where they learn through discovery rather than lecture and worksheets. Students do lots of hands-on activities and projects.
Stephanie: That sounds way better than my school. Can we go look?
Mom: Sure, Stephanie. If you like it we can pick up an application.
