Who is a Citizen ?

It is divided by: -Political Participation -Participation in the community -Others forms of participation-

Citizen Participation

Ecuador is a democratic country, where the citizens favors the expression of the ideas, needs and interests of the population.Elections and popular consultation are two forms of Political Participation.

Political Participation

This is the opinion of the citizen by a direct vote to support or reject matters of public interest.

POPULAR CONSULTATION

The Citizens choose the president, mayors, representatives and prefects by means of the vote.

Elections

NO ONE CAN FORCE OR OBLIGATE OTHERS TO PARTICIPATE, BUT COOPERATE IS A RIGHT THAT CAN BENEFIT YOU.

Free Participation

Aside of Political way people also participate in the community when they give an opinion or make respectful proposal. This participation should be free and informed.

PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMUNITY

SPORTS or art GROUPS: People organize themselves around a common interest, such as doing sport, painting, dancing, playing music, etc.
