1 The oldest opera

The opera was born more tan 400 years ago. It was inmediately very popular, because it meant people could enjoy music and the theatre at the same time. The oldest opera is L´Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi. It´s opening right was in 1607. It tells the story of the Young Orpheus´journey to the land of the dead to search for his love, Eurydice.

MIGUEL FLETA was a very important tenor.He was born in Albalate de Cinca (Huesca). He was one of the most significant opera singers in 20th. His technique was awesome. He sang the main roles in the best theatres of the world.

Samuel Ramey is an American bass singer. He is admired for his range and versatility. In this aria is Escamillo, a"torero" of the opera Carmen.

John Rawnsley is an English actor and baritone singer. In this aria is Figaro, the famous barbero of Sevilla.
