Use Padlet as an Evidence or Badge Board Padlet's simple interface makes it a great place to simply display information, like badges earned! As students earn badges, use your padlet board to keep track. If you have a small group, or students are in teams, use the columns option and post their badges under their designated column. Real life Example: Coach Brownlee is a P.E. teacher who wants to encourage her students to be active outside of school. She has decided to begin a badge program with each badge symbolizing an activity they could do; walk the dog, go for a job, play a sport, etc. Coach is using a Padlet board as a way to collect the evidence from her students. When students complete an activity, they post on the Padlet board! They must either post a picture or a video of them completinging the task. Since Padlet is web based, her students can use ANY device to access and interact with the board.

Padlet is a GREAT alternative to FlipGrid Yes, FlipGrid is AMAZING! I love it and so do millions of other educators! Its beautiful and has a wide variety of features that really support and enhance classroom instruction. However, there are some limitations that have frustrated me in the past. With FlipGrid, students have to have the mobile App on their phone. For students who don't have access to download apps (parent controls), this can cause an issue. With Padlet, it is web-based and does not require an app for students to record and post videos. With FlipGrid, students can post videos...that's pretty much it. If you want to add choice and variety of response, but keep everything in one place, Padlet is the answer. Students can record videos, record their screen, add text, images, and even links. All on the same board!

Collaboration! Students can create a FREE Padlet account too! This makes it so easy for them to share their boards and collaborate with their peers. Padlet offers a variety of organization methods, from posts, to columns, to maps and timelines. Padlet also makes it incredibly easy to share a board with collaborators. Students can work on one board together to plan, collect resources, communicate asynchronously, or present information.

Another Way to Brainstorm The Canvas Style board is great for prewriting and mind-mapping. Students can create flows of ideas easily and share, save, or collaborate with others.

Level Up your gallery Walk with Padlet! We all love a good gallery walk! There are a few ways to do this. If you still want kiddos moving around, create a board (or multiple, but you may need to create multiple accounts to get as many boards as you need) using the Shelf organization and create a column for each "stop" in your walk. Students can add their thoughts and comment on other's directly on the board as they walk around. You can also simply post the text, image, resource you'd like for students to analyze directly on the Padlet and have them comment as above! More About Gallery Walks!

Use a Padlet board for your FAQs Whether you want a parking lot for questions during a lesson, or a place for parents to post their non-emergent questions, Padlet is a great place to host all of those questions and answers! The Wall organization is a really good choice for this idea and you can set it up so that new posts show up at the top. Alternatively, you can set up moderation so that you can tell which ones you have and have not answers and only publish the question once it has an answer.

Padlet as Brag Boards While academics are important, so is community building. Padlet is a great place to set up an ongoing Brag Board for your classes. Have students post kind remarks about their peers. It would be best to moderate these so that you can preview everything before it is posted. Image how good your students will feel when they see someone's compliment or praise. You can even keep posts anonymous.

Moderating Posts with Padlet Having students work online together can be daunting as a teacher, because you have to let go of some control. Padlet has a beautiful feature that allows the board creator to moderate all posts to their boards. The posts will show up for the creator indicating that they need to be moderated. As the creator, you have the choice to approve or deny the post. Only posts that you have a approved will show up on the board for the public.

Timelines & Maps with Padlet Students can use the Map and Timeline boards to really visualize and illustrate their learning! Exporting their work as an image is EASY, so they can turn in work to Google Classroom or Learning Management System.

Jigsaw Organization with Padlet Oh the time-honored Jigsaw! Have students collect their thoughts and questions on a assigned topic directly to a Shelf board so that all students have access to all of the information! Example Jigsaw
