› Mario was 18 years old when traveled to Santiago in search of work. There he met his wife, Elvira Valdivia, with whom he had two children.
› His wife’s father worked at the mine, so Mario got to work with him.
His work in the mine
› Mario experienced the accident at the mine of San Jose in 2010. He was working at a depth of 700 meters for 69 days, where he spent moments of fear, hunger, darkness, anguish...
› He spent sixteen years working in the mine, enduring hards conditions and training, Mario became a heavy machinery operator.
