The project aim is to exchange a mascot that will remain in the foreign school during the Christmas term and Easter. Children, with the help of the teacher will illustrate a story having the foreign mascot as a main character of this story and explaining our traditions (Christmas, Easter) as a tale.

Short description

Children from each school prepare a diary with pictures to exchange the mascot and send it.

Children illustrate their Xmas tradition as a story where the 1st mascot is the main character.

The story is exchanged by Twinspace. The mascot travel to its own country.

That project is aimed at children aged 4-5 years old and schools from Romania, Nederlands and Spain will work in collaboration. In this project, the mother tongue is really important, but we also introduce the English language to communicate among teachers and also to let students know that we need a common language to be understood.

Who's that project aimed to?

• To develop and increase understanding against each other by enlightening the students of similarities and talk about our differences in order to establish a European identity and aspect. • To become aware and get an understanding of other countries and cultures. • To increase the awareness of our cultural heritage and the importance of language and Communication through different methods and activities. • To start literacy in English with some words related to students’ information. • To combine words with images, the child can clarify and strengthen their messages. • The child will straighten their language through talk and tell about everyday events. • Give children the opportunity of learning English songs listened in other European schools. .

Objectives

Critical thinking is included by explaining their own superpowers, exchanging traditions and emotions

Music competence by learning and showing new songs and singing together by skype.

Artistic Competence by illustrating different stories related to traditions.

Linguistic competence by practicing oral skills.

Key Competences

At the beginning of the school year each child prepares a gift to send to foreign partners. Bookmarks with a draw of their own mascot (will be included in the travel box)

Each term a song will be shared and learned by all students. Teachers will create two or three meetings to sing all together.

Finally, mascots come home with our diaries and stories. Children illustrate a final story explaining the travel that the mascot have done, with the pictures given by teachers.

Second, first exchange of our mascots. Children will illustrate a Xmas story drawing the foreing mascot in the way we celebrate our festivity.

Third, second exchange of our mascots. Children illustrate an Easter story in which the foreign mascot will appear in the way we celebrate our festivity.

First, each teacher creates a diary to work with their own students. Children add a picture and the teacher write children' superpowers.
