BlendedLearning
What is
What is Blended Learning?
Blended learning is a way of teaching that blends different modes of teaching.
Combining Modes
Over the years educators combined everything from web-based technologies, different forms of pedagogies or learning strategies and approaches, instructional technologies, and learning tasks, mobile learning, coding, and robotics.
Different Possibilities
Blended learning means different things to different people. Blended learning provides teachers with opportunities to combine any number of exciting and imaginative modes of learning.
Instruction and Learning
In short, Blended learning blends different forms of Instruction with different forms of Learning.
Other Terms
Blended learning is often called hybrid learning. Although hybrid and blended learning doesn't always mean exactly the same thing, these terms can generally be used interchangeably.
Different Models of Blended Learning
Teachers can choose from different blended learning models. Some can identify up to 12 Types of Blended Learning. These can be grouped into four main types:
Project-Based Learning
The Flipped Classroom Model
Learning Stations
Individual Virtual Learning with face-to-face Support
In this model, learners join a virtual school or class and work independently following the online content and instructions. They can still visit the physical brick-and-mortar classroom and see the teacher at set times. However, the emphasis is on them to take responsibility for their progress and work independently and meet their learning goals. At Limina we provide teachers with a virtual individualized learning experience. You can enroll in many online courses in EdTech integration and progress at your own speed. The courses are SACE accredited and you earn CPTD points when you successfully complete a course. View Limina's EdTech Integration Courses here.
