Welcome to the Active-Framework!

We want to provide you the easiest experience. So we're going to explore here the available resources (documentation, boiler-plate stations, e-learning...) and we're going to set-up your environment.

There are several ways of using the Active-Framework

Use individual features to improve your existing stations: Specific extensions, alarm improvments, better UI, synthesis...

Save some time by automating a few tasks: Automated view on every device & points, dynamic alarms menus...

Organize and structure data to automate most of the tasks: User rights by subsystems, fully automated charts, BIM synchronization...

Create an appliance: a fully automated applicationDatacenters monitoring, metering deployment, ahu optimizations...

You will mainly find here the documentation for every piece of the Framework, the download section and access to external resources like the training platform.

You will be asked to log-in to access the doc or to download: user: documentationpwd: documentation

DOCUMENTATION

Each component in the palette has its dedicated documentation either in the Workplace or in the platform.

DOWNLOADS

You can download the latest version of the modules and the boiler plates stations that are frequently updated.

E-LEARNING

The e-learning platform contains dozens of courses to learn the Framework features and to learn how to build on it.

Something missing? Vote to get features implemented in the Framework.

DOWNLOADS

You will be able to download modules (.jar) and boiler plates stations to avoid starting from scratch

There are 3 boiler plate stations available at the moment

Every module starts with the prefix btib. You won't need all of them each time, some are mandatory and others are optionals. We'll get there in a minute.

E-LEARNING

E-learning is great to get the basics. We will distinguish independant courses from programs (for bigger subjects)

Pick-up a course or a program and follow the presentation.Sometimes some questions will be asked to ensure you fully understood the concept.A question? Use the right panel. We try to answer as quickly as possible.

Let's set you up!

Make sure you're running Niagara 4.6 or greater

Download the modules from there:

https://download.active-framework.com/

You will need to create an account first.

Choose "Active-Framework" package. Unzip the file and copy-paste the modules in your Niagara installation folder, in the "modules" directory

That's a lot of modules...

Indeed. But you may not need all of them. Let's break them down.

btibCore

Contains the BtibService, the unique mandatory component

btibToolkit

Independant features: Logic, Alarm, Sysnthesis, Emails...

btibStructure

Data structuration: Node & InfoSource

btibStrategy

Creation of workflows to handle every programming task

btibVision

UI Features: Webwidgets, Map, LiveCharts, FlexView...

zCore

Px animations (converters). Why z?

We didn't want to change your habits in the list of available animations :) So the ones we add are at the end:

Check your license

Active-Framework is sold per station. You can use it on your Office Demo.

Once you have it, don't forget to add the btib certificate -> very classic mistakeDon't forget to re-start your station and your Workbench if you just updated your license

Now you're ready! Open a station or create a new one and drag&drop the BtibService inside. The status should be "ok"

If you don't have a license. Ask one to your distributor.
