Makaziwe is Nelson's daughter. She was 16 in 1970 and she was in high school.

Makgatho (nicknamed Kgatho) is Nelson's son. He was 20 in 1970, and he was Makaziwe's big brother.

In 1970 Nelson has been in prison for 7 years. His kids can't visit him and his wife is in prison too. This is a very difficult time for his family.

Winnie was Nelson's second wife. She was against apartheid, like Nelson and in 1969 she was arrested, sent to prison and tortured.
