HYDE PARK, KENSINGTON GARDENS AND ST. JAMES PARK ST. JAMES PARK St. James is full of many different birds and wild animals: ducks, hares, rabbits, squirrels, foxes and pelicans. People love also walking and jogging through the parks. HYDE PARK Here people love swimming, fishing and going out in boats on the Serpentine, the river in Hyde Park. You can also have fun at the Speakers' Corner. This is where you can go and talk about anything you like. All the world's problems are discussed here. KENSINGTON GARDENS They are situated at the end of Hyde Park. Here, you can find the statue of Peter Pan.

WESTMINSTER, THE CLOCK TOWER AND WESTMINSTER ABBEY WESTMINSTER Westminster is the heart of political and royal London. In this area you can see the Houses of Parliament where the members of parliament sit. THE CLOCK TOWER (OR BIG BEN) Next to the building you can see the Clock Tower. Inside the clock tower there is a famous bell, called Big Ben. WESTMINSTER ABBEY It is near the Houses of Parliament. This is the oldest and most famous church in London. The kings and queens of England are crowned here. Many famous British people have their tombs in Westminster Abbey: poets, politicians and war heroes are commemorated by different monuments.

PICCADILLY CIRCUS AND LEICESTER SQUARE PICCADILLY CIRCUS Here, boys and girls meet and sit on the steps around the Statue of Eros. Here you can find the London Pavilion full of shops, restaurants and attractions. It is famous for its video display and neon signs. LEICESTER SQUARE This area is full of theatres and cinemas. You can find a statue of Charlie Chaplin in this square and a statue of William Shakespeare in its small park.

TOWER OF LONDON It is a historic tower in the centre of London, very near Tower Bridge. It has been a royal palace, a fortress, a prison and a zoo. Now we can visit the building and see the Crown Jewels. There are also six big ravens. Ravens are big black birds. Their presence is traditionally believed to protect the Crown and the tower.

THE LONDON EYE It is also known as the Millennium Wheel. It was built in 1999 and is a giant wheel. It is 135 metres high and 25 people can sit in each cabin.

MADAME TRUSSARD'S It is a very special museum. Here you can find wax statues of famous people like Picasso, David Beckham, Napoleon, the Royal Family and so on.

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM You can find very dangerous dinosaurs just in front of you and they are enormous. Here, you can find fossils.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE It is the home of the queen. There are 600 rooms, a swimming pool, a cinema and a post office. When the queen is not at home, you can see the Union Jack on the roof of Buckingham Palace. But when the queen is at home, there is the Royal Standard. At 11.30 every morning there is the changing of the guards.

ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL It is the biggest church in London. It is also the largest religious building of the city and the seat of the Bishop of London. Here are celebrated the most important events of the Kingdom.

TOWER BRIDGE The bridge opens in the centre so that tall ships can pass and cruise in the river Thames. Together with the Big Ben, it is the symbol of the British capital.

THE SHARD It is a skycraper 310m high with 84 floors and a pyramidal shape. It is made of glass and it is the highest building in Europe. The italian architect Renzo Piano designed it. There are amazing views from the top floors.

CANARY WHARF It is the financial and business district full of high-quality office buildings which are home to many leading international companies.
