Identify relative advantage
1
Before any new technology enters the classroom, determine whether a relative advantage exists. Ask yourself:
- Is there a need that a given technology tool can address? Sample of needs: lowered student achievement, waning engagement in learning, new educational context or a redefined set of expectations.

Once a need has been identified and a given technology’s relative advantage evaluated, the next step is determining objectives and appropriate assessments. Ask yourself:1) what will students be able to do? 2) how long will it take for them to do it? 3) how are they going to demonstrate that the objective was met?
Determine objectives and assessments

3
- Plan carefully taking into consideration all the elementos of the teaching context.
- Analyse students’ readiness levels along with their affective needs.
- Develop a sequenced plan that considers the previous analysis.
- Make sure the goal is clearly stated.
- The digital tool must be aligned with curriculum content.
- Asses the instructional strategies.

- classroom layout
- available materials
- inform learners about new technology.
And prepare a backup plan for when technology issues arise

Analyze results and make revisions
5
At this stage, we make objective conclusions about what worked and what didn’t. Key to any effective and enduring technology integration plan is allowing it to evolve over time through repeated revisions of the previous steps.
BACK
Failure to analyze results and revise integration practices can result in:
- frustration
- fatigue
- unjustified spending funds and time,
- missed opportunities for deeper learning + enriched instruction.
