The red rose is the symbol of England
Kent, in the south-east of England, known as “the Garden of England”, because of its abundance of orchards. The main places of interest in Kent are the White Cliffs of Dover, the medieval Leeds castle, and Canterbury.
The Jurassic Coast in Dorset, an area in the south-west of England with cliffs and little beaches where it is possible to find fossils and evidence of dinosaurs
The patron of England is St. George and the National flag is St. George's Cross. The religion of England is protestant
The important people in England are: Newton, Tolkien, Shakespeare(he wrote Othello, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, The Tempest)
The Lake District, a national park in the north of England with about 80 lakes and also mountains, valleys, hills, farms, and pretty villages. It is a very beautiful place to go walking, observe the wildlife, and do water sports. The region was discovered by the Romantic poets: one of the most famous who found inspiration here and celebrated the Lake District in his poems was William Wordsworth (The Daffodils is a famous poem that expresses Wordsworth’s deep love for nature).
Cornwall, a spectacular area in the south-west of England that has coasts with high cliffs. This is a land of pirates and legends. People say that King Arthur’s castle is in Cornwall
Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire that is famous for the legend of Robin Hood
. The capital city is London.
Stonehenge, one of the most famous landmarks in the south-west of England, a prehistoric monument in Wiltshire. Stonehenge is a huge circle of large standing stones. Many people think it is a religious site.
