Before storytelling...
Giorgia prepared some little skaters made of coloured modeling clay that children could put on their fingers. With these little skaters children traced lines on a white sheet of paper pretending they were skating on an iced lake. This activity introduced the main topic of the story.
During the storytelling session there was a background music playing. Giorgia selected the Dance of The Hours which helped children relaxing and beeing in the right mood to listen to the story. Flora and the Penguin is a silent book, the story is told by the images so the narrator invented the narration for children. Giorgia highlighted the relationship between the characters letting children interpret the facial expressions and body language of Flora and the penguin.
Children created polar landscapes, using the images of the characters from the book and some snowflakes they sticked on a sheet of paper.
